Practical self help books are useful.

I had been read something about the critical legal studies movement from the United States. I was also reading about the love lives of socialists hundreds of years ago. I was also starting to read a history of agrarian societies by Max Webber. My point is that sometimes practical self help books are also needed in one’s library.

A great deal of my academic studies are involved in my workplace and data sciences

I have been working in a government ministry for 11 years now. I work with data directly almost everyday. I am moving more into analysis soon and will work less on production of statistics and perhaps work less directly with data. I will work more in economic analysis and have responsibilities for writing papers more.

I am following a bit of the recent facebook algorithm changes and discussing this change.

My legal background makes me think more of individuals and separate cases yet others in sociology would hope to generalize. This plays out in social media sites as some observations can be made but in my opinion there will be different uses in many cases and exceptions to the observations.

I am enjoying ebooks

I am building quite a library of economics ebooks and Python programming ebooks. This is happening outside of shopping at Amazon but the books are being read on an Amazon Kindle reader account on a physical Kindle but also using a Kindle app on various phones and tablets.

I read a study on senior consumption of online music.

I read a study by a coworker about online music consumption of seniors. It was noted that seniors buy more book and perhaps seniors would become big consumers of ebooks.

Music studies continue

I have been studying music in my spare time and a few years back have studied scales and jazz improvisation with Gary Burton from the Berklee College. This study was possible by attending a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). I also studied music production and the use of Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) in music production again from Berklee and again by way of a MOOC. That was taught by Loudon Stearns. I also studied song writing this way from Berklee taught by Pat Pattison. Lastly I studied intro to guitar playing, again from Berklee and taught by Thaddeus Hogarth.
