Pi sub i's as a probability vector for sampling w/o replacement.

I am not sure what Dr. Fellegi meant in his Ph.D. by saying the probabilities of a sample without replacement are to be represented by vector. We have the equal probabilities of and I would think probabilities of as sampling without replacement. I thought this was trivial not something one could write a Ph.D. about. Ok I am still assuming equal probabilities and certainly things are more interesting with unequal probabilities.

I do see his experiences with Statistics Canada and thus awareness of respondent burden cropping up early in his dissertation.

I am reading Ivan Peter Fellegi's Ph.D.

Ivan Peter Fellegi my most supreme boss at my work place is the chief statistician of Canada. I borrowed his Ph.D. today from the library of the school where we are both alumni and both of us studied statistics there. You can find out more about him on wikipedia which I believe is accurate. Here is a link to the wikiepdia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Fellegi.

This is good little presentation.

I am continuing to read general cyberspace culture studies.

I am still preparing my summer reading list to post here. I am still reading Daniel Bell's critique of himself and some of the other books I borrowed this summer. I am also reading a 100 year history of the wobblies. I attended the Montreal anarchist book fair.

Daniel Bell critiques himself.

Daniel Bell wrote about the post-industrial society in the 1970's. In Frank Webster's book, Mr. Bell critiques himself and those who have used his ideas. It is an interesting and novel piece that I read yesterday morning. I am not finished it yet.

I tried to claim this blog with technorati and they let me add a search function.

Wow, talk about more web freebies. I searched technorati for links to my various blogs and this blog was nowhere. After doing some surfing of other blogs linking to my various blogs and contacting various bloggers who linked to me (without permssion I note) both good and bad I decided to join technorati. I am now in the process of claiming this studies blog as my own.

I am preparing a list of books about cyberculture that I am reading at the moment.

I am hoping soon to have a list of books I am borrowing at the moment on cyberculture. I will also include library information for these books if available.

I am relaxed now that the school work is done.

I am more relaxed now that deadlines have passed and exams are over. I wrote an exam at work yesterday using a computer for a computer skilled job assignment. I am now focusing more on work instead of school. I have begun studying cyber culture over this summer. I have about ten books out on cyber culture. I have been reading them when ever I can the past week. I have a problem with the library being closed early this week at Carleton. I will try to use the libraries all summer at both schools. I am just resting now before a Friday at work.
